2019-20 Snow Country Results – January 25, 2020

New results for the 2019-20 Snow Country.  A couple of high points:

  1. Our first sling 600 this year was fired by Dan Altman at Monroe.  A 600-42. Outstanding job, Dan!
  2. We have a group of F-Class Shooters who have begun firing re-shoots.  Per the program an unlimited number of re-shoots are allowed.  Each time you re-shoot you replace your lowest score.  For the re-shoots you will see a shooters name twice (three times? or Four?) in the results for a particular match.  We will likely see several this year.

2020 Winter Mid-Range Prone League Announcement and Program

The Midland County Sportsman’s Club will be running their annual Winter Mid-Range Prone League again this year. The matches are unlimited sighters, and twenty (20) shots for record at 600 yards on electronic targets (Shot Markers).

As in years past, weather will dictate whether or not the match will be run on any particular date.  However, no longer will temperature be the primary reason that matches will be canceled.  Due to the large tent we are able to fire on points three (3) to seven (7) from a heated tent.  However, we will cancel in the case of rain to preserve the targets and electronics.  Additionally, hazardous driving conditions may cause cancelations, too.

The dates chose are:  February 1, and 29; March 14 and 28; April 4, 11, and 25.

2019 New Year’s Eve Rifle Match Results

On December 31, 2019, seven (7) stalwart competitors attended Midland’s Annual New Year’s Eve Rifle Match.  We enjoyed snow and cold temperatures, but were protected by Midland’s tent.  Of our entries we had three (3) F-Open shooters, two (2) F-TR shooters, and two (2) Target Rifle (sling) shooters.

The winning F-Open shooter was Tony Dekelaita with a 391-9X.  Unfortunately, due to a clerical error the bottle of Champagne was given to the second place shooter, Don Hicks, who had a 389-12X.  Tony we apologize.  We’ll fix it in March when we start the winter league.

The winning F-TR shooter was Charles Nelson with a 366-6X, and the winning Target Rifle shooter was Ray Gross with a 397-19X.

2019 New Year’s Eve Rifle Match

Once again we will test Mother Nature, and plan a New Year’s Eve Rifle Match.

This will be a 2×600, and be fired from our heated tents on the 600 yard line.  We will not cancel due to temperature (we ran at -5 F one year).  However, extreme driving conditions could cause a cancelation.
