The 2011 "Annual Foul Weather" Rifle Match was anything but foul. For the entire preceding week the weather man showed rain. By the time we made the call on the match it was showing grey skies, and winding. Well, we got the windy, but the skies were sunny, and it was warm (like the 50's, and hitting 60 by the time we finished). Well, lets say for Michigan in November it was warm. We had ten shooters show up to compete, I suspect there were another ten sorry they didn't. The winning Any Rifle was Bob Elka with a 398-24X. High F-Open was Bret Solomon with a 396-17X. High F-TR was Al Walewski with a 393-15X. In general it was a great day to get outside, and make smoke and noise. I suspect the match saved the lives of a couple of brother-in-laws.... Our next match is tentatively scheduled for New Year's Eve; if Mother Nature cooperates. The program is here. |
